Who are you listening to?

How can you say, you are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us? Look, the false pen of the scribe certainly works falsehood. The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken. Behold, they have rejected the Word of the Lord; so what wisdom do they have?
Jeremiah 8:8-9

The people of Judah were so self-deceived that they actually believed they were wise and they walked according to the law of the Lord. It is to no purpose for you to boast of your wisdom and knowledge of Gods law if you do not govern your lives by it’s directions.

God reminded Judah that not all who  study and teach the Word of God do so honestly.

Though they claimed to have both wisdom and Biblical truth, they had neither. In rejecting God’s Word they rejected wisdom. They had none.  Many claimed they had religious knowledge but yet unless taught by the Spirit of God the instinct of brutes is a more sure guide than their supposed wisdom.

Be careful who’s teaching you sit under! Get in with a church body and get planted! You don’t need to be running to different places to be fed God has a plan for you and he will provide what you need if you just stay planted!

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thought: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalm 139:23-24
